Easy Eco-Friendly Hacks for a Greener Lifestyle

In 2021, I was approached by the Anatomy of Action, a United Nation Environment Programme initiative, to be a part of the challenge that promotes the well-being of this planet we call home. I am sharing all that I learned during this challenge and two years later, these lessons are habits

The Anatomy of Action (AoA) activates people to contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12) on responsible consumption and production. It outlines the top-level changes any individual can make to support the growing shift to global sustainability.

We are all aware that the climate change is impacting us in immeasurable ways. Wildfires, floods, earthquakes, loss of land, loss of flora and fauna and loss of livelihoods and homes for humans… the list is long. We can only avert the crisis if we all pledge to do our own bit in our daily lives and there is no stopping us from redefining life for our future generations.

5 action areas under the Action of Anatomy Sustainable Living Challenge

The challenge sensitised me to the planet’s health and also introduced me to the way people from other parts of the world were contributing to make this a healthy planet. People covering different genres were chosen, some from food, some travel and wellness, some sustainable lifestyle.

There are 5 main areas under which all of us can collectively reduce our carbon footprint with very easy actions. In each area, if you adopt three practices, voila, you have made a remarkable difference.

I am sharing with you the 15 practices that I have undertaken to reduce my carbon footprint and maintain a sustainable lifestyle.

Food: #ProteinSwaps #UseAllYourfood #GrowYourOwn

Stuff: #Beyond Buying #FashionSlowdown #DitchDisposables

Move: #KeepActive #ShareYourRide #GoCleaner

Money: #EthicalInvesting #Divestment #EnergyPositiveHomes

Fun: #StayCurious #EnjoyTheJourney #ChooseExperiences

Are you also interested in choosing a sustainable lifestyle? Are making some conscious consumption choices as well? Do share with us your eco-friendly choices.

  3. Maintaining the greenery is a crucial need of the hour to save mother earth. Most people are ignoring the aftermath of cutting trees and building skyscrapers, when I see most places are occupied with grey concrete in the urban places, my heart longs to go to the rural areas where there is still greenery present. Thanks for writing this post as a reminder.

Your anatomy of action is really encouraging. I am too trying to minimise disposable items most. And my goal is to grow my own food at least with 5 vegetables. Thank you for sharing this challenge.
