As we step into 2026, I’m surely swapping the “all-or-nothing” resolutions for ‘atomic habits’. I know most of us think that real change requires a total overhaul, but after all my experience on the planet, real transformation happens in the quiet, daily 10-minute window we give to ourselves.
So, I have created a 7-day wellness programme that doesn’t require any complicated equipment—just a few minutes of intentional shifts to nourish your body, calm your mind, and clear your path. And here’s more power to new year, new goals!
Day 1: The Joyful Morning Routine
The first few moments set the tone for your entire year.
Digital Detox: Stay off your phone for the first few hours of the day. Connect with family, respect nature, and move through the world with joy.
Mindful Wake-Up: Visualize the most beautiful sight in your life.
Physical Ritual: Warm your hands over your eyes. Touch your right leg to the floor first to ground your energy. Drink a full stomach of water.
Kindness & Gratitude: Feed a bird or animal. Write down 10 things you love about yourself and the world you live in.
You can pick one or do them all, you have plenty of 10 minutes in the day. Or once you have inculcated one, you can add the next point to your next 7 days.
Day 2: Calming the Nerves (Aromatherapy)
Address the Water Element in your system using Lavender oil—the ultimate stress-buster.
Infuse Your Products: Add two drops of lavender to your shampoo or body wash for an immediate nervous system reset.
The Sensory Shower Swap: Use a bucket instead of the shower. Add 2 drops of lavender oil to the water.
Day 3: Rewriting Your Inner Script
Now that you are finding balance, internalize these truths. Repeat these affirmations as often as you wish:
- I am deeply rooted and confident.
- I attain my goals with ease.
- I honour, accept, and forgive myself and others.
- My thoughts are clear, and I speak my truth.
Day 4: The Power of the Pen (Journaling)
I did this all through 2025, and found this totally therapeutic. Your journal is your tracker, your mirror, and your accountability partner. Ditch your phone, keep a diary by your bedside. So, when you wake up or before you sleep, the only thing you should do is write.
- Define Your Destination: Note the goal you want to achieve (e.g., weight loss, confidence, “me time”).
- Acknowledge the Roadblocks: Write down every obstacle you perceive. Why does this feel impossible?
- The Healing Moment: Read your roadblocks aloud. This externalizes the fear so it no longer lives only in your head.
- Daily Check-In: Review your goals nightly. Note one positive change you felt.
Day 5: Nourishment & Digestive Harmony
Focus on small habits to soothe your “Agni” (digestive fire) and balance your internal constitution.
- Pre-Meal Energizer: 30 minutes before eating, take 1 tsp of a homemade ginger-lemon tonic (grated ginger, lemon water, honey, and salt).
- Digestive Tea: Sip a cardamom and fennel tea during your meal. Drink a coriander, fennel, and cumin tea 30 minutes after your meal.
- The Water Rule: Do NOT drink water 30 minutes before or after eating to keep digestive enzymes potent.
Day 6: Moving the Body
Exercise for a healthy body, not just for weight loss.
- Consistency Over Intensity: If you don’t have a routine, join a yoga, pilates, exercise session on YouTube. Challenges are forever floating around. You can even check my posts on yoga, pilates, exercises.
- The Magic Number: You only need 10 minutes! Follow a quick routine 3–4 times a week to keep the energy flowing.
Day 7: Honouring Your Body’s Rest
Use these smart swaps:
- Sugar: Swap white sugar for jaggery or stevia.
- Flour: Swap Maida for whole wheat.
- Rice: Choose unpolished or red/black over white rice.
Which of these 7 days feels the most “you”? And don’t worry if you miss a day! The goal for 2026 isn’t perfection—it’s resilience. If you miss Day 3, just pick it back up on Day 4.

Thank you for writing and sharing this detailed post, Ambica. Wellness is as simple as this and has to be a lifestyle change. You have explained it so well.

I like how this focuses on small, doable shifts instead of dramatic changes. Ten minutes feels realistic — and sometimes that’s all it takes to reset.

Cute and beautiful post. Only 10 mins for a reset. Even I looking forward to small consistent efforts that could make improvements easier.

beautiful one, Ambica. The one thing I don’t follow at all and never have is journaling. And it’s time I get started, 10 minutes each day, I promise myself. Thank you stirring this desire up again.

I agree with Each one of the point you mentioned except Digital Detox… As I strongly say its not for all as I can experience it. 1000 times I feel like taking a break but its not possible as work commitments dont allow it. Its not a regular job for me… my wrk nature demands screen presence and Digital Detox is something is a dream for me.

Try in the morning. It doesn’t interfere with work time then. And it’s such a relief.

I am all these and more, Ambica. But still I am struggling to calm my gut. I copied your affirmations to my phone notebook as they are different from what I usually use. Thank you for these and hope you achieve your wellness goals always.

All the best Harjeet. Keep small targets and then go for longer ones. One affirmation for 7 days and then15, 30, 45 till it becomes a habit.
